DJ BLAZITA BIO:
DJ Blazita, the 2008 Justo’s Mixtape Awards Best Female DJ, resides in Brooklyn, NY. Blazita originally started DJing while attending the Big Ten's Penn State University – rated the number 1 party school for several years. Starting off as a radio personality in high school and then for college (The Lion 90.7FM), she frequently hosted freestyle battles, interviewed special guests, and later began spinning mix shows. When her interest in music and radio led to her learning to use turntables, Blazita began rocking private parties, clubs, and Greek life events across central Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Blazita moved to NYC and began DJing clubs, private parties, comedy shows, and other events around the tri-state area. She has been featured hosting radio and mixing on Sirius Satellite Hip Hop Nation, Shade 45, DTFRadio.com, 1.FM Jamz and 91.9FM NYC.
To help up and coming artists market themselves and to promote herself as a DJ, Blazita also produces mix tapes. In 2008, she won an industry award (Justo) for BEST FEMALE DJ. Her mix cds have been featured on MTV Mixtape Mondays more than 10 times in the past 2 years and have been reviewed on Rapmullet.com, Thickonline.com (Canada), in Scratch Magazine, Foundation Magazine, and Juice Magazine (Germany). Blazita’s own favorite mix series known as the “Sex & The City: 90s R&B Classics” was recently nominated for 2 awards (Best Blend mix, Best Slow Jam mix) at the 2009 Southern Entertainment Awards.

These days women are fiercely independent and equal to a man in almost every aspect of society, maybe this is why there is the believe that women were made from man. If this is the true case, evidence of women being able to hold their own and serve just as much as man can in the board room or in a household, are true pieces of what powers we behold and how we use them.
Cleveland native, DJ Blazita is a perfect example of how women can achieve all they desire and do it with stride and class at the same time. We speak girlfriend to girlfriend over the phone from her new place called home, Brooklyn, New York. We came from similar eras where Madonna overruled the airwaves and Janet Jackson was every teenagers icon. This is to never leave behind the love we share for hip hop,"When I got into Hip Hop, It was BIG," she exaggerates with the glow I can relate to about the first day I fell in love with the music.....................
