A GOOD NAME IS WORTH SO MUCH MORE - TANYA T6

<span class=

Super Producer Dame Grease has built an empire with his Vacant Lot Records Label, from producing for some of the most prominent artist today to scoring films for major production houses, he has kept his ears to the street and business tactics to par. Many wonder how he's kept relevant in an Industry that is known to be saturated. His secret one will never know but his production is perfected by every delivery and his achievements become greater with time. Until now he has kept one of his lethal weapons a hidden treasure, he's ready to reveal to the world his hidden jewel and introduce the next platinum R&B songstress Tanya T6...

Sexy, sweet, energetic and business savvy are all adjectives that describe Vacant Lot/Lotmusik’s newest Pop/R&B sensation Tanya “T6”. Tanya a.k.a. “T6”'s talents go way above and beyond the typical artist. She not only entertains and captivates her audience with her sexy voice, provocative lyrics and amazing six pack, she is also a leader at the forefront of her own movement.

Soul Pitch Streetwire caught up with Tanya, while she was ready to lay down some vocals....

SPm: Tanya, How are we feeling Honey? For those who still are trying to figure out if there's some new blood in the pop & r&b music realm introduce yourself...

T6: I go by the name of Tanya aka T6--Dame Grease's R&B Songstress

SPM: As an up and coming artist, what is your daily hustle?

T6: Every single day, I try to better myself vocally, prepare myself mentally and physically, etc. I eat, sleep and breathe music and everyday I make sure that I made progress and moved one stepped closer to my goals. Its about to be 2010, the grind gets tougher and tougher to make it to the top and honestly, I love challenges and I'm in it to win it!

SPM: With each track your style is so versatile, who are your musical influences?

T6: My inspirations are Bone Thugs & Harmony, Deniese Williams, Roberta Flack, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbara Streisand and Kim Burrell.

SPM:
How do you pick your beats? What do you look for?

T6:
Just like an A&R, I don't have to listen to a complete track to know if I like it or not. I can tell 20 seconds in. I pick out tracks depending on my mood - for example, if I wanna write about love, the track gotta have a certain feel to it.

SPM: Do you write your own music?

T6: Yes. I am also part of a songwriting team called "The Co-Wrotes" and we write for major artists and producers.

In the Industry, a women's job is never easy so we just can't imagine what an artist has to go through to prove herself, her skills and motivation to make it. It's more than just a game, it's a daily grind. To show everyone it's a serious hustle. So Tanya how do you overcome all those obstacles?

T6: Straight and to the point - If I didn't have the passion, drive, talent, and motivation for my music and everything that comes with it, I would not be where I am today. Dame Grease and Hunter (The Associates) just don't sign/work with anyone. You gotta have the overall package. You gotta be able to take constructive criticism, learn from experiences, and keep it moving.

BTW, I always hear people talk about female artist and their looks. Question for the readers, besides the most important thing - which is having talent, would you try to push a female artist who's physical appearance is not up to par? RYTE...talk about it!

SPM: Did you ever encounter any disrespect in the Industry?

T6:
Not at all- Key thing is- The way you portray yourself has an effect on how people portray you. As I always say, I could care less about money, the finer things, a good name is worth so much more. That's one thing I love about my team, its alot of guys yes- but they have taught me how to shut em DOWN, and they respect and protect me. I'm their little sis!

SPM:
What projects are you working on now? Are you preparing yourself for any college tours?

T6:
I am currently working on an EP and some shows in the UK. Trying to end the year off with a BANG---POW! 2010 here I come!

SPM: Before we let you continue making them hits, the male fans would like to know are you single?

T6: Yes, I am single:)

Tanya is always a pleasure to speak with you, and we look forward to our 2nd interview this time fellas we will have some visuals (video) so stay tuned to that! in the meantime, let us know how the fans can reach you? and any special shout outs?

Definitely wanna give a shoutout to my Mentor and Producer Dame Grease, My Manager, Hunter (The Associates), My Vocal Coach David Bratton, The entire Lotmu$ik Family, and all my supporting friends, family and DJs. xoxoxoo
